Frederick Stephen Richards December 18 1951-February 17 2017 Fred lived a courageous life after he was diagnosed with cancer November 2010. He was born in Red Deer and lived on the family farm all his life. He attended Glenellen and Innisfail schools. He also attended Red Deer College but quit to run the family farm with his mother when his father passed away. Fred was a shy gentle man. From his first marriage he had his children Amy and Stephen whom he loved unconditionally. As well as farming Fred worked out at Sky Rise Farms with Dick Lawrence for 28 years. Fred loved gardening. It was the funniest sight to see, Fred planting a garden on his hands and knees. The last 10 years Fred built a lily bed, peony bed, poppy bed, clematis bed, 2 other flower beds and numerous fruit trees and shrubs. In 2005 Fred and Jeannine met online. They developed a friendship, first buddies, lovers, and soul mates. Their first trip was to Vegas, and were hooked. They married in 2007. Fred taught Jeannine to volunteer. They were involved in L.A. vintage Club, Pine Lake Hub Community Center, Ghost Pine 40 plus, and Glenellen Community Center. Fred continued to help out with farming with neighbors and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Edith and Leonard, brother in law Les Ray, and Uncle Johnny Sawyer. Fred is survived by his loving wife Jeannine, her children, Robin/Tamyka, Kathryn/Chris, Fred’s children, Amy/Dan and 7 month baby boy bump, Stephen/Bella, his sister Hazel Ray, her children, Tracey/Dave/Ashling, Cindy/Richard/Junaid, Uncle Donald and family, special Aunt Ella, and cousins. At Fred's request a party/celebration of life is to be held at Pine Lake Hub Community center on Feb 27 at 2:00 p.m. with lunch to follow. Burial will take place at Pine Lake Holy Trinity Church at 1:00 p.m.
