Mary “Isabelle” Heare 1923 - 2017 Isabelle passed away peacefully with her family by her side on March 22, 2017 at the Sunset Manor in Innisfail, Alberta at the age of 94 years. She will be fondly remembered by her children Dean (Janet) Doll and Frances (Dean Weise) McArthur. Isabelle also leaves to mourn 13 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and her sister Nelda Stainbrook of Port Alberni, BC. Isabelle was predeceased by her parents Arthur and Mabel Ceasor, her first husband Benjamin Doll and second husband Philip Heare. She was also predeceased by her son Ryan Heare and her grandson Trevor Brown, her siblings Laverne Ceasor, Dane Ceasor, Irma Thompson and Rene Kotowich. Isabelle was born January 12, 1923 in Glenside, Saskatchewan. Her family moved from there to Detroit Michigan, and then back to Calgary, Alberta, where her father worked as a carpenter. Later the family packed up their belongings and headed north to settle in the Stauffer area. There she began her schooling at The Clearcreek School NE of Caroline, Alberta, and finished it out at The Heckla School East of Spruce View while living with her sister Irma.Upon completion of her education Isabelle took a Home Service Training Course in Calgary, Alberta. In 1943 Isabelle married Benjamin Joseph Doll from the Butte area only to sadly lose him during WWII in the battle of Normandy in 1944. From this union she was blessed with their son Dean. On December 31, 1946, Isabelle married Philip Ruckman Heare from Raven, Alberta. After the wedding, her and her son Dean moved to the Heare family farm, where Phil and Isabelle had their daughter Frances, and their son Ryan. Isabelle resided on the farm until 2006 when she retired to the Autumn Glenn Lodge in Innisfail, Alberta. Isabelle’s family, home and friends were very important to her and in her younger days, she enjoyed being a member of the Raven Community Club, The Raven Ladies Club and the Pythian Sisters of Caroline. Besides her time spent creating an attractive home and yard, she loved to play board games, going to bingo with her friends, and cheering loudly while she watched many of her sons’, grandsons’ and even a few of her great-grandsons’ hockey games. Shopping, gardening and crafts were just a few of the things she enjoyed. She also loved to travel and took numerous trips with her sisters and friends. Her family will remember many delicious meals with the table set to perfection and lots of laughs as she was known for her quick wit, her great sense of humour and her spunky personality. She weathered the storms of her life with grace and dignity leaving behind a lifetime of comforting memories for her family. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, April 17th at The King of Kings Lutheran Church in Dickson at 1:00 p.m.with internment to follow at the Raven Cemetery. Lunch and a time of fellowship will be held directly after the service in the Spruce View Hall. Heartland Funeral Services of Innisfail, Alberta are entrusted with the arrangements.
