JOHN “JACK” YELENIK 1939 – 2017 It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Jack Yelenik after a very courageous battle with cancer at the Red Deer Hospice on Monday January 30, 2017 at the age of 77 years. Jack was born in Valleyview, Alberta on August 11, 1939 to John and Anne Yelenik. In 1961 he married Phyllis and together they raised 3 children, Kelly, Bonniejean and Cameron. He farmed in Valleyview and worked oilpatch for many years before retiring in 2008. He was predeceased by his eldest son Kelly, brother Joseph and his parents John and Anne. Jack is survived by his loving wife Phyllis of 56 years, his daughter Bonniejean, son Cameron (Kris), grandchildren: Kelly, Talysja, Fiona and great grandson Ethan. He is also survived by two brothers: Lawrence (Barb), Bill (Audrey) and two sisters Margaret (Fred) and Liz (Jim). He will be forever loved dearly missed by his family and many friends. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made to the Red Deer Hospice Society, or STARS Air Ambulance.
