Lorna May Mark (nee Madill) of Innisfail passed away at the Innisfail Health Care Centre on Thursday, January 16, 2014 at the age of 88 years. Lorna was born June 24, 1925 in Elrose, Saskatchewan. She moved to the Rolling Hills District in Alberta in 1942 where she worked for a local family. She met Alois Frank and they were married in 1946. Lorna is survived by her children Donna van Vliet (Nico) of White Lake B.C., Frank Mark of Crossfield AB., Mel (Hal) Armsden of Calgary AB., Kevin Mark of Innisfail AB., and Cynthia Mark (Tom Ward) of Rocky Mountain House, AB; foster children Shane Mooney (Maria) of Red Deer AB., Shannon Mooney (Michelle) of Innisfail AB., and Shelli Mooney; 4 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. She will also be lovingly remembered by her sisters Ruth (Bill) Shanks, Kathy Hankins and Grace Good, numerous nieces and nephews and special friend Marianne Lorenz and many other special friends who will miss playing cards and bingo together with her. Lorna was predeceased by her husband Alois Frank Mark, grandson Gene van Vliet; brothers Gordon Madill, Robert Madill and Donald Madill; sisters Margaret Dressel and Dorothy Godkin; mother Jane Robertson Madill (Cairns) and her father George James Madill. A memorial service will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion, Innisfail on Monday, January 27, 2014 at 1:00pm. If friends so desire memorial tributes may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
