Marcella Martin

Marcella Doris Martin (Russel) June 16, 1928 – March 26, 2017 Marcella was born in Ribstone, Alberta, and raised in Ribstone, Chauvin, and Buttsie, Alberta, moving occasionally as grandpa worked on the railroad. She was the third eldest of eleven children. They grew up close to their grandparents and mom relayed many found memories of them. Growing up they always had horses around them which was an experience that stayed with most of the brothers and sisters throughout their lifetime; be it at the race track or at home on the farm. Mom married and had four children – Faye, Donna-Lea (David), Tom (Linda) and Tim (Laurel) (Reinhart). In addition, she will be remembered by her nine grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. While she worked primarily in the hospitality industry, she was known more for her passions which included gardening, baking, cake decorating and sewing. Granny Mickey loved watching her family grow and always had a book or toy to share with her tiny kin. Marcella’s Memorial service will be held on Saturday April 1st, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Heartland Funeral Services Chapel in Innisfail. Memorial donations may be made in Marcella’s honour to the Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation.
