Marlene Letz

Linda Marlene Letz of Red Deer, AB passed away at Red Deer Regional Hospital on September 2nd at the age of 64 years. Marlene was born in Taber, Alberta on May 26th, 1950 to Myrna and Gordon Letz. She moved to Calgary when she was five years old. Marlene attended Christine Meikle School, a school for students with learning disabilities, until she was 21. In the 1980’s Marlene moved to Red Deer when her parents relocated to central Alberta. Marlene lived in a group home for disabled adults for most of her adult years with support from Parkland Community Living and Supports Society (Parkland CLASS) and COSMOS. Marlene was very attached to her parents, who maintained an active role in her life until their passing. A special thanks to the staff at the Duffield Ave group home, who provided Marlene with excellent care, support and quality of life through the many functions and activities provided for her. Marlene is survived by her sister, Shirley Fillinger, her sister, Vickie Derksen, and brother-in- law, Dennis. Nephews, Dwight, Dennis and Derrick Fillinger, and their spouses and children. Nieces Angela Fillinger and Crystal Milburn and their spouses and children and Nephew Joey Derksen.
