Mayme Herman-Swan

Mayme Herman- Swan passed away peacefully on April 30, 2013 in her home at Rosefield Center, Innisfail at the age of 99 years and 8 months. Mayme leaves as a legacy her eight children George & Rose Herman- Innisfail , Nyna & Ernest Marr - Innisfail , Nita & Al Cooper- Innisfail , Peter & Marg Herman- Bowden , Alana & Neil Anderson- Duck Lake SK , Derrill & Liia Herman- Innisfail , Ted Herman - Olds , Kerri Herman & Barry Noble- Innisfail, 32 grandchildren , 36 great grandchildren , 6 great- great granchildren. Mayme was born Sept 2, 1913 in Leighton AB and lived a long and healthy life raising her family with Perry Herman (m. June 29, 1934) in Lloydminster and moving to Bowden in 1975 until his death in 1977. Mayme & Charlie Swan (m. Sept 13, 1986) spent their married retirement years in Innisfail and traveled extensively through Europe and the US, until his death in 2007. Mayme was always happiest when she was working and believed her greatest accomplishment in life was her family. She encouraged & assisted each one of her children to pursue post secondary education through a trade, college or university as she always felt an education was important. She worked in many different environments over the years, but one of her proudest memories was of her work north of the Arctic Circle in the early seventies. Mayme was predeceased by an infant daughter, Lori Kim in 1955, Perry Herman in 1977. Charlie Swan in 2007. She is survived by 1 sister Audrey Grant, Edmonton and 1 sister in law, Anna Campbell, Lloydminster and numerous special nieces and nephews. Special Thanks to Dr. Barker and the wonderful staff of Rosefield Center for their kind, patient, and loving care of Mayme during her last 6 years. A memorial celebration of her full and wonderfully long life will be held Friday May 10th, 2013 at 2:00 pm in the United Church, Innisfail, A private family interment to follow at a later date in the Lloydminster Cemetery, In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you give the gift of your time to visit a loved one who cannot get up and out on their own. Over her last 6 years in the Rosefield Center, Mayme truly enjoyed a visit, short or long, to share a story & a joke and a scratch ticket or two. NE OBLIVISCARIS.
