Robert Biggart Innisfail, Alberta Obituary

Robert Biggart

ROBERT JOHN BIGGART passed away suddenly in Calgary at the age of 38. He was born March 18, 1975 in Innisfail and entered the heavens November 20, 2013. He is survived by two young, loving sons from Calgary. Cameron and his mom Jaime Bridges, Andy and his mom Rhina Guardado, as well as stepchildren. He is also survived by his parents, Linda and Bill Biggart (Innisfail), 4 brothers and 2 sisters. William (Calgary), Irene (Raymond), Elaine/Eric (Innisfail), Clarence (Spruceview), Henry/Michelle (Texas), Jack/Shar (Cochrane), sister-in-law Jodi Biggart (Sundre), as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Rob grew up on the family farm near Crammond and attended Caroline School. He was no stranger to hardwork and always offered a helping hand. After graduating High School he started his career working seismic and travelled around Alberta and British Columbia. He decided to move to Cochrane where he worked at the Spray Lakes Sawmill and worked with his brothers Clarence and Jack. He went back to seismic again but soon got tired of hotel life and decided to change career paths and moved to Calgary where he worked for RONA Warehouse for many years. He was currently employed by Stone Tile West Ltd from Calgary. He enjoyed hunting, camping, fishing and football. He took Cameron, his nieces and nephews under his wing and would gopher hunt with them. He had a very close bond with them. His nieces and nephews felt the same way towards him. He was an avid CALGARY STAMPEDERS fan and took his boys to the games in Calgary. They wore Stampeders Jerseys, gloves, hats and were hardcore fans. He trained with the Calgary Stampeders football training camp and received his very own jersey and was technically signed on with the Stampeders. Training camp was not easy and used so many different muscles and every single muscle was used in training camp. He knew it was grueling, hard training but that didn’t slow him down. He was quite sore at times but he was committed to the team and continued on. His niece Kaylee also enjoys football and in 2011 he lost a bet to her and had to wear the Edmonton Eskimos jersey which he said was giving him a rash. He was committed to the Calgary Stampeders and it was painful for him to even put on another teams jersey, but he lost the bet fair and square. Rob was very well known among many players. It was not uncommon for Rob to be in the stadium and be recognized and acknowledged by his first name. He proudly wore the Stampeders Gold Grey Cup ring. He was an extremely proud dad when Cameron was chosen to be the kick off kid at the 2012 Western Semi-Finals Stampeders Game. They watched the whole game from the sidelines and were close to all the action. Rob and his Red Ford Ranger could be heard for miles with the stereo system he had. You could hear him playing his rock music and knew it was Rob before you would even see the vehicle. Rob loved his boys and they were his world to him. The joy and love they brought to there dad was all a dad needed. Cameron’s description of his dad, “he was a strong father and the best dad I could ever have”. Andy is very young but loved being with his dad as well. He would say “Daddy, let’s go see the cows”, and Rob would immediately take Andy to where he wanted to go. He loved his boys. You will be extremely missed by your entire family and always loved. We shed our tears for you and will mend broken hearts. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at 1:00 p.m.at the Innisfail Royal Canadian Legion Interment will follow at the Innisfail Cemetery.
