Valentine Spencer

Val was born August 21st, 1927 in Cardiff, Wales (UK). She married Harry in 1949 and raised three children, Brian, Russell and Kathryn. In 1994 at the age of 67 Val and Harry emigrated to Alberta to be close to their children and seven grandchildren. They lived in Lacombe for 13 years before moving to the Innisfail area in 2007. Val was a great lady with a wonderful character. She was a gifted knitter and donated all her work to children's charities and local hospitals. She became great-grandma to eight more children born into the family. Val adored children and was known for taking the time to stop and chat with moms and babies whilst on her many shopping trips. In 2010 Val moved into Sunset Manor where she was cared for so well. It is a testament to Val's awesome character and her Welsh sense of humour that she was so well loved by everyone who got to know her. She will be sadly missed. A special thanks to the staff at Sunset manor for looking after Val so well in her last years. She loved you all. In lieu of flowers the family simply requests people visit someone they know living in a care facility to brighten their day.
