KENDZE Anita Louise Kendze was born May 18, 1939 in Leroy, Saskatchewan to Knud and Louise Knudsen. She was the youngest child of 7 children. Anita passed away January 20, 2020 in Olds at the age of 80. Anita married Herbert Kendze on November 8, 1957. In 1967, Anita and Herb packed up their family of 4 girls (Patti, Debbie, Cheryl, Lori) and moved to Bashaw, Alberta. Nine months later they moved to the Sundre area where they started farming and it was here their son Darren was born. In 1971, they bought a quarter of land near Zella and another son Mark joined the family. Anita was actively involved in the church. She always had a huge garden and loved to bake. There was always the aroma of fresh baking in the kitchen. She loved to read and her nose was often in a book. She was actively involved in community and church events. Anita loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren and was always excited to see them. She will be missed. Anita is lovingly remembered by her husband Herb; daughters Patti (Brian) Gardner, Debbie Kendze, Cheryl (Ed) van de Pypekamp, Lori (Colin) Niemeyer; sons Darren (Trish) Kendze and Mark (Deborah) Kendze. Anita was blessed with 20 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by 2 brothers and 2 sisters and is survived by a brother and sister. Fuenral services were held on Friday January 24, 2020 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Olds with Pastor John Lentz officiating.
