William Longmire Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mr. William Lorne ‘Bill’ Longmire at Red Deer, Alberta on Thursday, March 7, 2019 at the age of 82 years. Bill was born in Goderich, Ontario and was raised on the family farm. As a young man, he obtained his Heavy Duty Mechanic Ticket. He later served on the Northwest Territories Apprenticeship Board; where he obtained his Millwright and Machinist Tickets. After an eight year stint in the Northwest Territories, the family moved to Lacombe, and Bill opened his own Machine Shop. Later in life, Bill lived in Caroline, Alberta to be close to his son, Patrick. His years in Caroline helped him forge a special closeness with Patrick’s children: Jordan, Kody and Sydney, which he enjoyed until his passing. Bill will be lovingly remembered by his sisters, Pat Morrison and Kathleen Longmire; brothers, Jim and John Longmire; children, Patrick (Nancy), Andrew and Hally (Trevor); his grandchildren, Jordan (Morgan), Kody, Sydney, Patia (Joe), Dayton (Joey), Ann (Lucas), Kate (Tuna) and Sam (Mandy); great grandchildren, Liam, Aqueela, Xavier, Andrea, Isabella, Linus and Makayla.
