Claude Gopaul Obituary

Claude Gopaul, Trinidad born Canadian Pharmacists, survived by two sons has passed away peacefully on Sept 11, 2020. Claude was married to Dr. Lena Hosein Gopaul and was a cherished member of the community since coming to Canada to attend UBC. He called Coquitlam home for over 60 years and lived and contributed to the community with an old school approach, helping others however he could. Known to his friends as Magnus, Claude is remembered fondly and we are all saddened by his death. Claude was well known at the Exhibition Park and in the Trinidad and Tobago community. Fond memories of Claude live on in everyone who knew him; he was always generous to his neighbors and friends and was loved by each of them. For years, Claude's love of gardening was the talk of the neighborhood and its abundance was shared with many neighbors and friends. Those who worked in his pharmacies continued to be his friends for years after those businesses closed, never losing touch, and staying good friends. His friends and family, from Canada to Trinidad, will remember a kind and well-spoken man who lived in service to others. Claude, Magnus, Gopaul, will be missed.
