Valerie Loraine Hamilton Obituary

Valerie Hamilton neé Parkin (March 18, 1939-October 21, 2020) With broken hearts we share the passing of Valerie Hamilton, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many. Val is survived by her husband of 58 years Don, son Dean (Lori), daughter Julie-Claire (Brian), and adored grandchildren Jack, Samantha, Cole and Bella. Val grew up in Victoria, daughter to Len and Alice Parkin. She excelled in athletics, at dance, and at school. Many of mom’s friends still are from her time in Victoria. Val and Don moved away from Victoria to pursue a career on the mainland after their marriage in 1962. After a time in Kamloops Val and Don settled in North Vancouver where they stayed and raised their family. After short periods of time in Edgemont and Lynn Valley, they arrived at 650. The Hamilton house was always full of family and friends. Christmases were rarely with just family, anyone was welcome at the table, and with so many close friends great times were had. Val always had so many close friends that are as dear as family, we thank them all for their love and support during mom’s whole life and recently with her courageous battle with dementia. Val had a wonderful career as a flight attendant allowing her to see the world, and also travel extensively with family. Val loved her family and doting on her grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by all that had the pleasure of knowing her and her wonderful smile that would light up a room. Celebration of life tbd post Covid. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer's Association or a charity of your choice.
