“Laurelle Oulette (nee Vancoughnett) Date of Birth: July 5, 1948 Death: November 9, 2019 It is with saddened hearts that the family of Laurelle Oulette announce her passing on November 9, 2019 at the age of 71. Left to cherish her memory are her son Donald (Lindsay); daughter Barb (Jason) Trottier; 4 grandchildren Tim, Abby, Sydney, and Ethan; siblings Melva Hayward, Myrna Hawkins, Dianne Steeves, Bill (Audrey) Vancoughnett, Donna (Brian) Jesso, Darlene Larson, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Laurelle is predeceased by her husband Donald, daughter Debbie, parents Melvin and Kathleen Vancoughnett and brother Keith Vancoughnett. Memorial Service to take place November 30, 2019 at 11am at St. Anne’s Catholic Church, Flin Flon, MB” Laurelle was born on July 5th 1948 in Flin Flon, Manitoba to Melvin & Kathleen Vancoughnett. She was the 5th of 8 children and had a strong bond with her siblings Melva, Keith, Myrna, Dianne, Bill, Donna and Darlene. On February 17, 1968 she married the love of her life Donald Oulette. They had 3 children, Debbie, Don Jr. and their Christmas baby Barb. Throughout the years they lived in Qualicum Beach, Victoria, Regina, and Flin Flon. Laurelle was a registered nurse and spent much of her career at the Flin Flon General Hospital. There she made many friends with her colleagues and later changed positions to a hospital administrator. After retiring in July 2010, Laurelle and Don moved to Winnipeg to be closer to their daughter Barb and her family. Sadly, Dec 28, 2010 marked the passing of her Daughter Debbie after a courageous battle with cancer and on Jan 4, 2014 Laurelle lost her husband Don due to complications with dementia. Family was important to Laurelle, especially her grandchildren Tim, Abby, Sydney, and Ethan. She loved her grandchildren dearly, and after she moved to Winnipeg was able to spend a lot of time with Sydney and Ethan. Laurelle loved watching Sydney’s dance competitions and Ethan’s karate tournaments. Many sleepovers were held at grandma’s house in Winnipeg. When Laurelle traveled to Alberta to visit, she enjoyed watching Tim’s football games and Abby play ringette. Laurelle loved visiting with her sisters Darlene and Dianne and their families in Medicine Hat and enjoyed her visits with Donna and Brian when they would go to Winnipeg. Laurelle passed away in hospital on November 9th, 2019 in Winnipeg. She leaves behind her son Don and daughter in-law Lindsay and their children Tim & Abby; and her daughter Barb and son in-law Jason Trottier and their children Sydney and Ethan. Also left to mourn her loss are her siblings Melva, Myrna, Dianne, Bill and his wife Audrey, Donna and her husband Brian, and Darlene plus numerous nieces and nephews. Laurelle is now at peace and has been reunited in heaven with her husband Don, Daughter Debbie, parents Mel and Kay, and brother Keith.
