Linda Jackson Obituary

LINDA JACKSON - Mom – Grandma - Great Grandma - Aunty Born in Edmore, Sk April 22, 1929. She entered Heaven’s gate on May 3, 2020. She was predeceased by her husband of 41 years Ray Jackson in 1992. She was the last living member of her immediate family being predeceased by her parents, 3 sisters Mary Budzinsky, Lil Yausie and Ann Duliak and her 2 brothers Metro and Bill Budzinsky. Known by all her family and friends as Lin, Gramma Lin and Aunty Lin. Except of course when she did something naughty and you could hear dad in the distance saying LINDA??? Mom worked in Foam Lake, Sk in her younger years until moving to Rosetown, Sk where she met Ray. They were married in October of 1950 in Anglia, Sk and then moved to Creighton, SK where they started their family. In 1951 they had their first son Bob followed by their first daughter Colleen in 1952. In 1957 they decided to expand their family when their second daughter Donna was born followed by their second son Grant in 1958. They made their home in Flin Flon in 1963. They enjoyed a very active social life with family and many friends. Large gatherings were a common thing at the Jackson house with mom in the kitchen preparing food for as many people that they could make room for. While growing up holidays spent with aunts, uncles and cousins from both sides was just a way of life. Time spent at the lake camping or renting a cabin was our summer. Once the family grew up it didn’t slow her down. She and dad were off every weekend camping with friends in the summer, taking long road trips in their camper or out somewhere dancing. Oh how they loved to dance. Trips to Vegas were also a favorite of hers. She was actively involved with the Royal Purple and the Legion Ladies Auxiliary along with taking on a job at the front desk at the Kelsey Trail Motor Inn now known as the Victoria Inn. After dads passing mom remained in Flin Flon until moving to Pine Falls in 2012 to be close to family. Mom will always be remembered for her love of cooking, sharing her recipes and spoiling her grandkids. Never does a conversation come up about her with friends that someone still doesn’t mention her perogies, homemade buns or cinnamon buns. She will always hold a special place in the hearts of her 4 Children Bob (Marlene) Jackson, Colleen (Don) Urbanoski, Donna (Kevin) Smith, Grant (Eileen) Jackson, her 12 Grandchildren Jennifer Jackson, Shaun (Jessica) Jackson and Christine Jackson (Chad); Kore Jackson and Dion Jackson; Darren (Renelda) Gordon, Teri (Wade) Meikle, Riley (Rachelle) Gordon and Laine (Brad) Cooper; Rick (Michelle) Jackson, Danielle Jackson (Mike) and Dustin Jackson. She also leaves behind 20 beautiful great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews that think the world of her. Her heart was so huge, it just got tired. The four of us could not be prouder of the values that were instilled in us during our upbringing. If we have passed on only a fraction to our children we have done a very good job. We know you are in Heaven now having that long awaited waltz with Dad. Rest in peace our wonderful dear mother. We will love you and cherish our memories forever. A special thank you to Mary Anne, Mom’s personal angel and the home care workers and doctors and nurses of the Pine Falls Hospital who all took such good care of her. Mom will be laid to rest at the Hillside Cemetery in Flin Flon next to Dad. Donations may be made in her honour to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Funeral arrangements are pending and Dadson Funeral Home & Crematorium is entrusted with arrangements. The family would like to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers more than ever during these uncertain times. SPECIAL MEMORIES FROM HER 12 GRANDCHILDREN Kore Jackson – Heart and home Jennifer Jackson – Generous. Her facial expressions were the best! Darren Gordon – Nothing was ever too much. Never made it seem like she was going out of her way. The best ever! Shaun Jackson – Loved her perogies and white beans with bacon Rick Jackson – Her strength and compassion regardless of what was going on, her first concern was her grandkids. And when you went to visit, her first two questions. Have you eaten? Are you hungry? Teri Meikle – Loved her visits when she would boss me around in the kitchen and show me a thing or two. Cleaning up the flour was like cleaning up drywall dust. It was everywhere but I loved it! Oh Gramma, you taught us all to be strong and kind. We are so blessed to have had someone like you in our lives. Xoxo Christine Jackson – She was always there to listen to anything you wanted to tell her. She never judged you and only had unconditional love. She was the one to go to when you didn’t want to tell your parents yet. LOL Dion Jackson – Gramma would always say take care of yourselves and each other Dustin Jackson – She was always so patient and kind. I don’t remember her ever being angry at anyone Riley Gordon – A beautiful soul then now and forever.
