We are deeply saddened to announce the sudden passing of Mary Louise Sidic of Flin Flon, Manitoba. Mary Lou is survived by her son Michael, her daughter Lisa, plus her granddaughters Tristen and Kennedy. She leaves behind her brother George Hay, her sister Heather Robbins, her former husband Victor Sidic, her best friend Marion Taylor, her sister-in-law Evka Sidic, brothers-in-law Karel and Millie, as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Don and Edna Hay. Mary Lou was born in Flin Flon on December 31, 1950. She was welcomed into our family in 1952 and quickly became an integral part of the Hay Clan. Mary Lou was a courageous, determined and independent woman. She lived with many physical challenges but never let them rule her life. In her words, she was tough as nails! For many years her constant companion was her dog Nova. Mary Lou loved all animals and enjoyed feeding the squirrels, birds and ravens! It was important for Louie to recognize important issues. She would have different coloured lights on her clothes line to represent a concern such as pink for breast cancer. Mary Lou loved her family and friends, sharing her quirky sense of humour with those around her. A deep gratitude is extended to the Home Care workers and proctors who assisted her for the past few years. She loved the interaction with these caregivers, and showed her appreciation of the help she received with her trademark humour. Thanks to Dr. C. Breneman for the ongoing care. Thanks also to her neighbours Garry and Jen for all the support they offered, and to her friend Lisa Chartrand. Donations in Mary Lou’s memory may be made to the Flin Flon/Creighton SPCA or any charity of your choice. There will be a private family burial when health regulations allow.
