Agnes Munroe was born in Shoal River Reserve, Manitoba on Wednesday, April 14, 1937, to Adam and Violet (Quill) Cook. Agnes was united in marriage to Harry Munroe on January 4, 1954; at the St. Andrew’s, Shoal River Reserve. They lived for a short time in Pelican Rapids then moving permanently to reside in Dawson Bay, Manitoba. She later relocated to Swan River, due to medical reasons. Agnes was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and a friend to many. Agnes and Harry raised their grandson Leslie (Jeff) Munro as one of their own sons. Some of her hobbies included: knitting, reading, cooking, baking buns, making bannock, listening to music, playing cards and bingo. She enjoyed visiting with her family and friends. She always enjoyed a good joke and had a good sense of humor. She was very kind and had a warm heart. She was always feeding people who came to visit at her home. Agnes Munroe (Cook) passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 3, 2017 at 9:25 p.m. at the Swan Valley Personal Care Home. She was surrounded by her family and grandchildren by her side. She was 80 years of age. Agnes was predeceased by her husband, the late Harry Munroe on January 26, 1989. Agnes is survived by her sons Gerald “Jelly Bean”, Terry (Isabelle), Leslie (Dori), Teddy, Perley (Elaine) and Trevor (Marie) Munroe; daughters Barinder (Paul) Dhillon, Frances (Leon) Renaud and Lorraine (Leroy); brothers Daniel (Sandra) Cook and Dickie Cook; sisters Alice Bourassa, Liz Cook and Tina Henderson; brother-in-law Gilbert Munroe; sisters-in-law Lois Cook and Evelyn Munroe. Agnes was predeceased by her parents Adam and Violet Cook; son Leslie “Crumb” Munroe; brothers Kenny, Alec “Big Anchor”, Lawrence and Charlie Cook; brothers-in-law Cecil, Gordon, Eddie, Percy, Glen Munro and Soloman Bourassa; sisters-in-law Ada Ferland, Ida Lavallee, Florence Lowe and Nora Cook.
