Antonio Campbell THE PAS, Manitoba Obituary

Antonio Campbell

Noot was born Friday, July 5, 1996 at St. Boniface Hospital, Winnipeg, Manitoba. Noot was 13 years old and was attending grade 8 at Rod Martin School. He recently had 100% on his work and he showed it off proudly! Montana had two moms—Alice (mom) and Judy and his pops Gilbert, also godparents mom and pops. Noot enjoyed playing cards, walking around listening to music on his MP3 player, playing bingo and video games. In the summer, Montana loved to build forts with his bros and pick berries with his younger sisters and brothers. He occasionally joined Pops when Pops did his daily exercising, like jogging or canoeing, Noot would brag about being first when he would beat Pops at jogging. In the winter Noot loved to go sliding, ski-dooing and visiting all his friends until the wee hours of the night. Noot was the baby of the family, first our moms than our dads, he was so close to Pops he would wrestle with him and box with him acting like Bruce Lee, which Pops will miss the bond they shared. This one time Noot went with Pops trapping out on the lake and they came to a beaver house, Pops told Noot to stay with him, not to wonder off all of a sudden Noot started yelling for Pops. Pops turned around and Noot went through the ice. He was yelling “Ba-Ba, Ba-Ba” flapping his hands, crying for Pops to help him, so Pops took him out and they had to come back home not even setting the traps. A couple of days later Pops asked Noot if he wanted to go trap again. Noot said “No Way!” and he never went back out again. Noot and Pops always got a good laugh at this when they brought it up. Noot also loved making fried bannock. He liked to cook and would make one for everyone who was home. Montana had a lot of friends, young and old. He was very outgoing with a great personality. He was full of smiles and loved to crack jokes to everyone and tease people (with respect). Montana’s famous words were “Master, you got any spare change, Ke-ma-ma” and “I’ll beat you up uncle!” Everyday Noot would come ask many of his aunties and uncles for five bucks, he would come to us cousins and friends and would say “it’s time for Texas”, cause Noot would score five bucks. When Noot plays Texas he would say this right away in the first round of Texas “All in” and James would always call him. Sometimes Noot would get out and he would go to Pops and ask for five bucks and he would come back and say “lets play again”. He loved playing Texas Hold ‘Em with all of us. If Noot missed a ride to The Pas, he would come up to Jock and James and say, “Lets go hitch” and Jock and James would say, “Lets pack up first” and Noot, Jock and James would pack cloths, food and Noot would say, “We need a knife too, just in case we see a bear.” Noot loved hitch hiking with Jock and James. Noot was a very lovable young boy you would have loved him too. Our baby Noot will be sadly missed. “Noot we only had you for 13 years, it wasn’t long enough but we are very lucky to have had you.” Noot was taken from us Saturday, March 27, 2010 in Moose Lake, Manitoba. Noot leaves to mourn his passing, his dad Pops Gilbert; mom Judy (Gary) and her children Shadow, Whitney, Garry Jr., Allister and Kavika; sisters Corrine (James), Janice, Miranda (John) Master Justina (Superman), Wendy (Gerry), Charmaine (Michael), Baldy, Precious, big sister Alicia; brothers Derrick (Steph), JR (Liz), Joey (Lyrecia), Cecil, and all of Mom’s potatoes Ken, Charles, Gilbert Jonas, Dallas, Jock, Daniel, James, King, Joey, Prince Keith, Gilbert III, baby Byron, Trenell, Hayden, RJ; grandparents KooKoo Lucy and Ernest Bercier; chapan Hilda Sinclair; and many cousins and relatives too numerous to mention.
