Arlene Runions Obituary

Arlene Joyce Runions was born Sunday, March 21, 1954 in The Pas, Manitoba. She was the second of nine children born to Margaret and Raymond Ducharme. Arlene was a dedicated, devoted, hard working, caring, compassionate woman who helped and cared for her family, the elders and for people who were in need. She always worked hard and did her very best at everything that was brought to her attention. Arlene made her family strong this way, always encouraging, never give up and always do your very best, work hard and be good to each other. Respect one another. She was our foundation. She was always there through the many good times, even through the tough ones. She made family occasions and holidays extra special for her family. For the last 30 years, Arlene gave her life as a health care professional, registered nurse working at the Rod McGillivary Memorial Care Home, Opaskwayak Cree Nation. A profession she thoroughly enjoyed. Arlene enjoyed camping, going on trips, watching movies, and visiting with her family. She especially enjoyed Christmas time and Trappers Festival watching her grandsons compete and placing in the first and second runner ups in the Junior King Competitions and also watching her oldest granddaughter being crowned Fur Queen 2012. Until we meet again, Arlene will be missed by all who knew her and loved her. Arlene passed away peacefully with her family all around her, Sunday, January 13, 2013, at St. Anthony’s Hospital, The Pas, Manitoba, at the age of 58 years.
