Arthur Lathlin THE PAS, Manitoba Obituary

Arthur Lathlin

Our son Arthur G.L. Lathlin was born in The Pas Manitoba, Saturday, August 27, 1977 and he left us all too soon Friday, January 30, 2015, near Moose Lake, Manitoba, at the age of 37 years. Arthur lived most of his life with his parents Laz and Carol Lathlin on Opaskwayak Cree Nation. He attended school in the Town of The Pas and Opaskwayak Cree Nation. For a few months he moved to Saskatoon, Saskatchewan to attend school but he “always” came back home where his heart belonged. Arthur lived his life to the fullest. He was a very happy young man, all that knew Art, knew him as a caring, loving person to one and all. Arthur was especially fond of his son “lil Laz”. Where ever he went his “lil man” would follow right behind. He really enjoyed the outdoors, doing yard work, working on building things, fixing cars, along with his father Lazarus. Art always enjoyed spending time with his parents, sister Ruth, brothers Kevin and Henry, always teasing his mother until she would get angry, then Art would get up and out the door he’d go laughing and would always say, “See you later I’m going for a walk.” Arthur always had the gift of laughter, to joke and make everything funnier. He knew when someone was down and would always lift their spirits with a smile. He was always ready and willing to give that helping hand when he would come across someone doing yard work or anything to do with Challenge. Into his adult life Arthur became a loving father to 6 children; Joanne, Danaya, Lily, Jaylnn, Laz and Liam and 2 grand-children; Trevor and “baby girl” Ava. He found a lot of comfort and love when he got to spend time with his children, especially his baby, Laz. Arthur had a big heart for soccer playing with the Big Eddy Warriors, Moose Lake “Lakers” and OCN Kickers. He would never give it a second thought to leave town for a weekend with his friends. Arthur is survived by his parents Lazarus and Carol Lathlin; partner Anita Umpherville; children Lil Laz, Lily, Jaylynn and Liam; eldest daughter Joanne (grandchildren Trevor and Ava); daughter Danaya; sister Ruth (Jeff), brothers Kevin (Demoley), Henry; mother-in-law Mary Umpherville and children; Godparents Antoine and Matilda Lathlin; Campbell aunts and uncles; Lathlin aunts and uncles and many cousins.
