Beverley Puerto THE PAS, Manitoba Obituary

Beverley Puerto

Bev was born Wednesday, August 18, 1948 to Doris and Frank Buck at St. Anthony’s Hospital, The Pas, Manitoba. Bev married David Lipscomb in 1966 and together had 3 children, Leonard, Angela, David (Mark). Later in 1992 Bev was remarried to Alex Puerto. Over the years Bev resided in many places, Hamiota, Oak River, Winnipeg, California, Jasper, Regina, Prince Albert and finally back to The Pas. Bev was a very hard worker. In 1990, Bev graduated from Red River College with a Business Administration degree. In 1993, she completed the outstanding hospitality course and graduated with her degree in hotel management. Bev became sick in 2003. After many tests she was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. Bev spent many months in the hospital over the years and kept a daily diary of each day, appointments and hospital visits. One of her greatest gifts was a bone marrow transplant from her youngest brother Don. She called him her saviour. Bev was very strong and fought the battle right to the very end. She was a devoted Christian and believed in the power of prayer. Bev’s strengths came from her family especially her mom. Bev was very proud of her children, grandchildren and recently her great grandson. Over the years Bev would always look forward to going on a holiday but never seemed to happen as she ended up in the hospital with pneumonia. Bev loved to camp with her mom. This summer Bev felt well enough to travel and attended her goddaughter`s wedding in Canmore, Alberta then spent a month with her daughter Angela who took her to Golden, BC for a week. She was so happy that the whole time she did not end up in the hospital. This Christmas Bev and Mom went through her many treasures in her ``tickle trunk`` as she called it and was able to find a gift for each of her loved ones. She was so excited to be able to spend Christmas with her son, grand-daughters and great grandson in Winnipeg. Later that evening Bev made many phone calls to her family to tell everyone what a great day she had. She was laughing and joking which is what she did best. She made sure that she said ``I love you`` to everyone she spoke with. The next morning she had her calling. It was her time to join her dad, brother Terry and granny. Bev is now at peace with the angels in heaven. Bev passed away peacefully, Monday, December 26, 2011 at the Health Sciences Centre, Winnipeg, Manitoba at the age of 63 years. Bev is survived by her mother Doris Buck; son Leonard (Cathy) Lipscomb and their children Devon, Linzey; daughter Angela Brown (Paul) and their children Braden, Christian, Jordan; son Mark Lipscomb and his children Abigail, Aliesha; great grandson Rylen; brothers Gordon (Andrea) Buck, Rick (Laurie) Buck, Robert Buck, Don (Kelly) Buck; sisters Shelley (Dan) Hill, Daphne Buck (Wallace); sister-in-law Connie Buck; aunts Sylvia Cloutier, Verna Kemp, Yvonne Carcamo; uncle Dennis Chassé; along with many nieces and nephews; god children Sean Hill, Cynthia Dawidowich (Buck), Candi Morin (Buck) and Shawn Yaremko (Plesh).
