Burnell Chartrand THE PAS, Manitoba Obituary

Burnell Chartrand

In loving memory of Burnell Noel Stanley Chartrand, born Monday, December 25, 1950 and sadly passing away, Saturday, December 25, 2010 at St. Anthony’s Hospital, The Pas, Manitoba, with family members and dear friends by his side, age 60 years. As a young fellow, Burnell spent many hours playing marbles with Beverly, allowing her to come so close to winning and with a flick of his thumb would beat her and laugh. As Burnell got older he got interested in baseball. He played many games and tournaments under the supervision and coaching of Leo Mayer. Then he took a great interest in hockey going to the arena to watch The Pas Junior Huskies. At the age of 19, Burnell began working at the River Saw Mill staying with his job for 40 years. During 35 years of marriage, dad and mom were blessed with six children. Dad leaves to mourn his wife Judy Chartrand; children Noel (Sarah), Samantha (Vernon), Glenn (Jamie), Penny (Clayton), Dwayne and Brittany; brothers and sisters Sylvia, Bev (John), Ruyl (Leah), Avril, Jerry (Leslie), Danny, Chicky, Donnie (Naomie); many grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Burnell was predeceased by his daughter Marie in infancy; parents Stanley and Mable; sisters Anna, Ida, Florenstine; and brother Joe. A service of remembrance to celebrate Burnell’s life was held Tuesday, December 28, 2010, 7:00 pm at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Cathedral, The Pas, Manitoba, with Rev. Paul Bringleson presiding. In keeping with Burnell’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family interment will be held at a later date. Honorary pallbearers are all Burnell’s Friends and Co-Workers past and present. If friends so desire, donations to a charity of choice, would be appreciated by Burnell’s family.
