Carolyn Wilkinson THE PAS, Manitoba Obituary

Carolyn Wilkinson

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of long-time resident of The Pas, Manitoba, Carolyn Ann Wilkinson. Carol passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, January 15, 2017, at St. Anthony’s Hospital, The Pas, at the age of 57 years. Carolyn was born Saturday, November 14, 1959, in Minnedosa, Manitoba, the first of three daughters, to the late Catherine and Mervin Wilkinson. She was sister to Roxanne (Ben) and Norma (Dean); aunt to Jarred, Dylan and Jenna; mother to Patricia (Gerry); proud grandmother to Lindsay, Kayla, Daisy and Taylor; and great grandmother to Mason and Shiloh; and friend to everyone she met. Carol , “Sam”, enjoyed the simple things in life like camping, travelling and visiting with family and friends, often combining the three. She enjoyed being with and around people and spent much of her time giving back to the community by volunteering through the churches, the Legion, the Tea House and the Salvation Army. Carolyn cherished the moments she spent with children through the many groups and organizations she worked with. Although she faced many challenges in her life, Carol was rarely without a smile on her face. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thank you to all those that were a part of Carolyn’s life. We would especially like to thank the staff at Pine View Manor, the home care staff and the staff at St. Anthony’s Hospital (including second floor nurses and dialysis staff), for the care and compassion shown to Carol. We would also like to thank the staff at Hemauer Funeral Home for all their assistance during this difficult time. In keeping with Carolyn’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family interment will be held at a later date in Minnedosa, Manitoba. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 200-310 Broadway, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3C 0S6 or to a charity of choice, would be appreciated by Carolyn’s family.
