Clayton Guay

Clayton Ernest Guay was born Saturday, May 1, 1948, and was the firstborn child to parents: Benjamin and Elizabeth Guay. Clayton was raised in the communities of Sherridan, Cranberry Portage, and The Pas, Manitoba. As a young man growing up in these communities Clayton enjoyed hunting, fishing and listening to music. Clayton was an outstanding musician who learned to play many instruments exceptionally well, such as; the guitar, harmonica, banjo and drums. Clayton enjoyed drumming and was an outstanding drummer. Clayton completed a majority of his education attending high school in The Pas and eventually attended College to complete his ticket to be a qualified Plumber. Clayton worked various jobs for many years in the community and also worked for Plumbing and Heating companies in the community of The Pas. Clayton worked hard all his life and took pride in his work. Clayton had dreams to fulfill and his first dream was to meet a lovely lady and marry her. While Clayton was living in The Pas he did meet that lovely lady and married the love of his life: Sarah Crait. Soon after Clayton and Sarah were united in marriage and they moved to Thompson Manitoba. It was in Thompson that Clayton would pursue his second dream to own and operate his own Plumbing and Heating business. Clayton in partnership with another person purchased Irwin’s Plumbing and Heating Business in Thompson, Manitoba. He continued to work at his Plumbing and Heating business for several years before retiring. Clayton patiently waited for the grandchildren to arrive and his patience would eventually pay off, which made Clayton so very happy. However when the great grandchildren, began to arrive Clayton was over the moon upon their arrival. Clayton loved all his grandchildren and great grandchildren and took great pleasure in bragging about them. Clayton was so proud of them all. Clayton was a good provider to his family and took great pride in raising his family. Clayton left us unexpectedly Wednesday, December 13, 2017, at the Thompson General Hospital, at the age 69 years old. Clayton is survived by his children Russel (Sherry) Crait, Debra (Wilfred) Halcrow, and Vincent Guay; grandchildren Brittany Halcrow, Wilfred Halcrow Jr., Jeffery Halcrow, Melanie (Donovan Clarke) Halcrow, Tyler Halcrow, Tristen Halcrow, Sarah Halcrow, Darryl (Faith) Blacksmith, Randy (Cheyenne) Blacksmith, Darin Blacksmith and Shonda Black Smith; great grandchildren: Gerald Hart, Emily Halcrow, Rylee Clarke, Nevaeh Halcrow, Keisten Halcrow, Helena Halcrow, Rhett Clarke, Estilleze and Aggie Blacksmith, Seraya and Jessie Blacksmith. Clayton is also survived by his sister Beverly (Keith) Chartrand; brothers Benjamin Guay Sr., Keith (Gladys) Guay, Kelvin (Susan) Guay, Ramona (Gary) Fryza and Wayne (Josephine) Guay; and survived by numerous nephews and nieces. Clayton is predeceased by his wife Sarah Guay; his father Benjamin Felix Guay; mother Elizabeth (nee Badger) Guay; sister Virginia Guay; brother Warren Guay; sister-in-law Debbie Guay; aunts Laura (Nee Badger) Bear, Helen (Moses) Constant, Rita (Stan) Fitzner; uncle Gordon Badger; cousins Lloyd Bear, Johnny Bear, Gerald Bear and Edgar Constant; grandparents Albert Badger and Jessie Badger.
