Cory Ballantyne THE PAS, Manitoba Obituary

Cory Ballantyne

Cory was born Sunday, February 18, 1996 in The Pas, Manitoba to Wanda Ballantyne and Raymond Harris. Cory was raised in The Pas, Manitoba and had visited his family in Easterville and Moose Lake but his main up bringing was in The Pas. Cory enjoyed going for long strolls stopping here and there visiting with relatives and laughing with friends, he would randomly talk about the night before or how his day was going, his entrance greeting “wass up?” During his most enjoyable days Cory would tease his sisters to the point where they would chase him but could never catch him, and he would have a good laugh on them because they couldn't catch him. Soon Cory would get it back from his baby sister Nadia, the youngest out of the six girls and Nadia would call him “papa”. Cory would chase her teasingly and tell her “I’m not your papa, I’m your brother.” Nadia would run under the table thinking she won and Cory couldn’t catch her. His relaxing times would consist of playing video games and listening to loud music with Kirk and Kirby, visiting with Cheyanne and helping out with Andrius’s health. He practically spent his younger days there and the family referred to him as “Brother”. He was a very caring person to his sick relatives. He would feed tube Andrius and constantly ask to help with his granny Alice’s sickness. His special moments were spent with his dad Raymond and they would go on lunches and walk and talk about his baby days and now that he was a young man he would wear his dad’s clothes and once in awhile steal his “gitchies” as him and Ray would refer to and laugh about it. Cory will be missed deeply by his girlfriend, Arla McKay. She thinks about him day and night since she heard about her love. Her most memorable time was when Cory would tickle her until she would almost cry. They spent most of their time together. Cory will be lovingly remembered by his parents Wanda Ballantyne and Raymond Harris; brother Shane Head; sisters Brittany, Martina (Leon), Chataya, Destiney, Danielle and baby Nadia; kookum Alice Ballantyne; nieces Peyton, Maria, Manisha; nephew Johnathon; uncles Norman Harris, Bernard (Shonda), Gordon Ballantyne; aunties Lynnette (Clarence) Thomas; special friend Arla McKay; special cousins Kirk and Kirby Martin, whom he considered his brothers; godparents Joey Henderson, Betty Ann Burns; great aunties, uncles, cousins, friends too numerous to mention. Cory was predeceased by grandparents Thelma R. Harris (Granny), Baptiste Ballantyne (Grandpa), Margaret Flett (Grandma), Morley Flett (Grandpa); uncles Brian Harris, Gary Cook, Ken Hooper; aunties Mary Jane Harris, Caroline Henderson; cousins Conway Ballantyne, Baptiste Ballantyne.
