David Riley Howard Leslie Cook was born Friday, January 11, 1985 at St. Anthony’s Hospital, The Pas, Manitoba. He resided at Opaskwayak Cree Nation. During his youth he received his education at Joe A. Ross School until 1997 when his parents moved to Saskatoon. David also moved with them and furthered his education at Joe Douquette School in Saskatoon. David enjoyed spending time with his nephew and nieces, Waylon, Desiree and Sheena. He was well known as Li’l Dave or Baby Dave. David enjoyed listening to music, kicking the soccer ball around with his nephew Waylon and his brothers and friends. He enjoyed throwing the baseball with his father Beam and his brothers laughing at them when he accidently hit them or threw it far from them. David passed away unexpectedly, Saturday, March 13, 2010 at Thompson Manitoba, age 25 years. David is survived by his parents David “Beam” and Pauline Cook; brothers Franklin (Summer), William (Inez), Roderick, Wilfred, Joe; sisters Helen (Emile), Kechikan; nieces Desiree, Sheena, Tianna, Lexine; nephews Waylon, Tyrell; uncles Sol Turner, Danny, Fred; aunties Bev (Howard), Primrose (Henry), Patricia and Liz Turner, Georgina Simms, Katherine, Gabby, Wilma, Mary (Isaac), Sandra (David Chaboyer), Linda Jean, Veronica (Ken), Delia, Madeline, Irene, Sarah Jane; grandparents Roderick (Doris), Joseph (Joanne), Victoria Cook, Priscilla Cook, Irene Cook, Flora Jane Young, Christie Young, Rosalie Wilson; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other close relatives.
