David was born Saturday, October 20, 1973 in The Pas, Manitoba. David spent his pre-school years in The Pas, moving to Winnipeg in 1977 and attended grades K-5 at Dr. D.W. Penner Elementary School. Moving back to The Pas and continuing his elementary years at Mary Duncan and moving on to MBCI to grade 7 and receiving honors. David then moved back to Winnipeg to live with his dad, David Seagris, Sr. and graduated from J.H. Bruns Collegiate. David moved back to The Pas with his mom when he turned 18. David worked as a general labourer for many people and businesses in town and he took pride in his job and a job well done. David was happiest riding his bike and doing yard work in the summer and in the fall he enjoyed gathering wood with his mom, Don, auntie Kathy and Ken. He loved spending time with his niece and nephews. He enjoyed fishing with his buddies, camping, boat rides with Don on the Saskatchewan River and family gatherings and picnics at Clearwater Lake. David especially loved cats. David passed away unexpectedly, Monday, June 7, 2010 at St. Anthony’s Hospital, The Pas, Manitoba, age 36 years. David will be missed by his mom Susan and Don Dorma; dad David Sr.; brother Paul; grandfather Chris Seagris; niece Natasha; nephews Brendon and Kevin; auntie Kathy Ducharme and Ken Gerrese; cousin Neil Jr. (Candise) and Neil’s children Zeke Ducharme, Ethan Lajambe, Keith Lajambe; cousin Michael and Pam; uncle Neil Ducharme Sr.; auntie Cindy and uncle Bob Fosty; cousin Joey and Keri Chernenkoff. David was predeceased by his Nana Elaine Seagris; Papa Fred Chernenkoff and Baba Tena Chernenkoff. Prayers and visitation was held Sunday, June 13, 2010, 7:00 pm at the Chapel of Hemauer Funeral Home, The Pas, Manitoba. The funeral service for David was held Monday, June 14, 2010, 3:00 pm at Christ Church Anglican, The Pas, Manitoba with James Hemauer presiding. Music Ministry was provided by Isobel Halcrow and the Christ Church Choir. Family memories were shared by Kathy Ducharme and Diane Sanderson. Scripture readings were proclaimed by Dori Gelowitz and Sheila Roque. Pallbearers were Darrell Stewart, Kimberly Katcher, Jessica Robinson, Ken Gerrese, Paul Seagris, Eric Sanderson and Eldon Schur. Honorary Pallbearers were Michael Ducharme, Joey Chernenkoff, Neil Ducharme, Dale Watts, Brendon, Natasha, Kevin Seagris, Dodie Simonite, Murray Fitzpatrick,and all of David’s friends especially Stephanie. Interment followed at Lakeside Cemetery, The Pas, Manitoba. As per David’s wishes, if friends so desire, donations to The Pas and Area Humane Society, Box 4005, The Pas, Manitoba, R9A 1S5 or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3L 0K6.
