Delbert was born Tuesday, April 27, 1976 in The Pas, Manitoba. He lived most of his life in Moose Lake, Manitoba.
In his early years, Delbert attended Moose Lake School where he graduated grade 9. He moved to The Pas, Manitoba to further his education where he attended MBCI and he went to KCC, where he received his diploma as a Commercial Cook. He was a volunteer at the Rod Martin School and worked for the Moose Lake RCMP as a guard for numerous years and was employed at the Northern Store, IGA and Miss The Pas Restaurant.
Delbert had a good sense of humour. He would make up nicknames for his cousins, nieces, nephews and aunties. Whoever he met or approached, they would laugh and joke at each other. Delbert enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He loved family gatherings. His hobbies included playing Texas Hold’em, and card games, watching movies, attending the sundances, listening to gospel music and hymns, attending Gospel Jamborees and Hymn Sings. He also enjoyed driving his bike around before his illness. Mostly he loved spending time with his nephew Curtis Campbell, whom he called “Butterball” and “Bep-beem-mits”.
Delbert was diagnosed with diabetes at the age of 14 years and his illness never slowed him down. He had a special gift of showing people how important and sacred life was and to live it to the fullest.
Delbert passed away peacefully with his family by his bedside in the early morning hours of Tuesday, May 28, 2013 a St. Anthony’s Hospital, The Pas, Manitoba, at the age of 37 years.
Delbert is survived by his mother Maria; brothers Peter, Glen (Melissa); sisters Angel (Petey Young); niece Kaylee Gray; nephews Greyson Burge, Zachary, Eric.
