Our dad Dominique, was born in the early morning of Wednesday, March 10, 1926 at Counsel Lake, Manitoba on route from the family trap line to Pukatawagan. On this day, 2 families were trying to make it to Pukatawagan to await the birth of their babies. The first baby, was born before the families passed Lynn Lake. Dominique was born after passing Lynn Lake at Counsel Lake. Dominique always put the Lord first and taught with the Sacred Laws in mind. He lived a rich full life. He was a great spiritual leader, teacher, trapper, counsellor, chief, CHR, mentor, advisor, friend and most of all a loving husband, gentle father, grandfather, great grandfather, caring brother and uncle. Dominique began his heavenly journey at the age of 87 years, 4:00 am at St. Anthony’s Hospital, with his daughters and niece singing him into the spirit world. Finally into eternity, to be with the Lord and Creator and his wife Marie Anne forever more. “Oh what a glorious day.” Dominique left a great legacy for all people who came into his life. Everyone knows in their heart, what gift was given to them by this strong and humble man. Utilize and rejoice in that gift and pass it on with faith. For each and everyone of you are “part of the Great Plan of God and his amazing love.” Dominique is survived by his daughters Marlene, Barbara (Mike), Thelma (Lyle), Suzanne (Jeff), Caroline (Stan), Clare (Gary) and Nancy; special grandson Peter “Pihcho” Hart; adopted children Arthur Sinclair, Flora Munroe, Leslie Drake (Janice), Leonard, William, Patrick; brother Charlie Hart; 33 grandchildren; 56 great grandchildren; and numerous foster children, relatives and friends. Dominique was predeceased by his wife Marie Anne Hart (September 10, 2012); parents William and Caroline Hart; brothers Celestine Linklater, Joseph Linklater, Edward Hart, Hanson Hart, Henry Hart; sisters Marietta, Rita, Christina; children Marlene, William, William “Bill”, Rose, infant baby Hart; grandchildren Travis, Gerald, Maverick; great grandchild Phillip Blue Sky Bighetty.
