Donald Thomas
It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of our beloved father, brother, choom, uncle, cousin, friend, Donald Cornelius Thomas, also known as “Makinabb”, Friday, September 2, 2016 at the residence of his niece, Georgina Walker, of Easterville, Manitoba, at the age of 67 years. Donnie was born in Cedar Lake (Chemawawin) Monday, April 25, 1949 to Eliza Jane and Henry Thomas. Donnie was united in marriage to Pearl Mercredie of Moose Lake and together they had five daughters. Later in life they separated, but they still maintained a bond. Donnie met his new companion, Thelma Sinclair and together they had two children, a girl and a boy. Donnie also adopted Thelma’s three oldest girls as his own. Donnie loved watching movies and he had a huge VHS collection. He also enjoyed playing cards. He was also a commercial fisherman for over 40 years. Donnie was a loving, caring and humble man. He loved to spend time visiting with his sisters and his best friend James “Monster” Campbell. His favorite reply was, “I dunno.” when he was asked a question. He will be missed by all who knew him. Donnie is survived by his wife Pearl Thomas; daughters Sharon, Wendy, Carol, Nicole, Donalda Lynn (Donald Jr.), as well as Debbie, Christina, Diane, Rebecca; sisters Emma Ballantyne, Lorna George, Shirley Walker; brothers Edward Thomas, Ralph Thomas; grandchildren Tambi, Sarah, Dagney, Nicholas, Aubrey, Kristen, Dakota, Charlie, Carla, Bo, Jesse, Levi, Brian, Tazz, Faron, Keenai, Waylon, Preston, DJ, Shannon, Emery, Cody, Jared, Max, Savannah, Nicholas, Tatum, Atreyy, Kreelyn, Karnal; great grandchildren Emma, James, Zalaya, Aaliyah, Kimberly, Indra; and many family too numerous to mention. Donnie was predeceased by his parents Eliza Jane and Henry Thomas; daughters Carla Joyce, Donalda Lee; brother-in-law Peter Walker; sister-in-law Virginia Thomas; cousins Peter Ballantyne, Randy George and Conrad Thomas.
