Donna known as “Pisew” was born Tuesday, February 1, 1966 in The Pas, Manitoba. Donna loved the outdoors, picking up herbal medicine like weekus for the elders. She always went to McKnight with Ernest and Adeliade every spring. She was very helpful volunteering her time to help others, giving whatever she had. Her favorite grand niece Cheyanne, she called her “little porky”. Every Father’s Day she paddled with Cathy to Highrock to visit where her parents and older siblings lived. Donna recently moved to Lynn Lake to live with her adopted sister Shirley. Donna’s routine did not change from helping others and picking herbal medicines and berries to give to the elders. Donna passed away unexpectedly, Monday, May 3, 2010 at St. Anthony’s Hospital, The Pas, Manitoba, age 44 years. Donna is survived by her children Ernie, Erica, Roxanne, Gail, Tony, Travis, Sonny, Jeremie; sisters Cathy (Stan), Doreen, Rita, Mary Ann (Rueben); niece/adopted sister Shirley (Eli); brothers Oliver, Johnny, Ernest (Adelaide); adopted brothers Perry (Cherrie), Darren (Melissa); sister-in-law Victoria Francois; brothers-in-law John Bighetty, Jimmy Bighetty; uncles and aunties Caroline Caribou, Angus (Pelagie) Linklater, Cathy Linklater; auntie Genevieve Caribou; relatives from Nelson House Jean Marie (Arabelle) Leroy, Glen (Dolly), Carl (Selena) and families, Brenda, Denise, Claudia, Elizabeth, Lloyd and families; cousin John (Hilda) Francois; and numerous relatives and friends.
