Edward Richard Ballantyne, 52, of Moose Lake, Manitoba passed away very peacefully with his family by his side, Monday, June 1, 2015 at St. Anthony’s Hospital. Edward was born Sunday, November 11, 1962 in The Pas, Manitoba at St Anthony’s Hospital to Rose and Philip Ballantyne from Moose Lake, Manitoba. He graduated from Frontier Collegiate Institute in 1981 and from Red River College with his Culinary Arts Certificate. From his previous marriage to Esther Crane they were blessed with two children Kimberly and Hank. On February 21, 2013 Kimberly had a baby girl named Nova Winter Rose Majhen making Edward and Esther proud grandparents. Edward aka “Ric Flair” will be forever remembered for his witty sense of humour and love for life. Edward always knew how to make everyone laugh and he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was a very talented man who was artistic in his drawings and loved cooking. Edward competed in numerous singing competitions where he often won. His love for music lives on through his children Kimberly and Hank who he loved with all his heart. Edward is survived by his parents Rose and Philip Ballantyne; two children Kimberly (Emil) and Hank Ballantyne; granddaughter Nova Majhen; brothers Arnold (Sandra), Greg (Della) Ballantyne, Derrick Ballantyne, Cyril (Glenda) Ballantyne; and many nieces and nephews too numerous to mention. Predeceased by his sister Leona Cochrane; brothers Floyd Ballantyne and Clarence “Bon” Ballantyne; and nephew Lloyd “Soup” Genaille.
