Elizabeth Ann Martin was born September 24,1937 in Moose Lake, Manitoba. She passed away peacefully at The Pas Health complex on June 23,2011 with her family and loved ones by her side. During her younger years, she was employed at St.Pauls in The Pas, Frontier School in Moose Lake. She also had various jobs locally as a homemaker for Tom Lamb and family. Elizabeth helped raise her sisters children and loved to watch them grow. She entered into marriage with Bartholomew Martin on September 18,1961. Bart and Elizabeth were blessed with three boys and one girl. She was a very kind, loving and forgivable woman. She gave her life to the Lord many years ago, She enjoyed talking to people and especially on the phone. She would talk about everything and anything, especially on the phone and sometimes would be singing. Her hobbies were travelling, going back and forth visiting her children. She loved to trapline when she was able to move around. Elizabeth was a late night knitter, she made slippers, dishcloths, and rugs. She also loved to take a trip to U-Pick farms to go pick berries. She enjoyed telling stories and listening to her husband read the bible. She had alot of talent, which were beadwork, cooking and sewing that she taught her grandchildren. Our kookom use to keemooch give us treats, and whenever she couldnt pronounce names, she gave nicknames. Elizabeth had many special friends. Elizabeth is survived by: her husband Bartholemew, children: Jeffrey(Catherine)Martin, Anthony (Muriel)Martin, Steven(Lillian)Martin Sisters:MaryAnn (Roderick)Bignell, Virginia Grey, Sister in law, Brenda Martin, Dorothy Martin. Brothers: Sam(Florence) Ettawakapow, James (Susan)Ettawakapow, Raymond( Flora Jean) Tobacco. Brother in law, John (Joyce) Martin, nephews, nieces, sisters and brothers and in-laws. Relative: Violet Monias in Cross Lake. Elizabeth will also be missed by: Grandchildren: Joanna(Harry), Lucyle (Earl), Denelda(Riel), Lawrence (Vanessa), Lorilynn, Loretta, Stephanie(Jonathon), Melissa(Richie), Jessica, Layne, Lenny, Taylor and Shaylene. Great grandkids: Dreyson, Hudson, Lawrence the 3rd, Nathaniel, Felix Nasikapow, Keewatin Harper, Brody Hudson, Chad Martin, Ashton Martin, and Shaylene Hudson. God children: Jonathon Martin, Louisa Martin. Active Pallbearers: George Mcnabb, Jerry Young, Ross Martin, Justin Bignell, Lee Mcnabb, Layne Martin, Bertie Grey, Matthew Ettawakapow, Sam Jr Ettawakapow, Truman Campbell, Henry Ross, Alex Ross, Lawrence Jr, Jonathon Martin, Earl Harper, Jacob Nasikapow Jr, Roderick Bignell Jr, Fred Grey, Ernest Grey, Leonard Ettawakapow, Abel Martin Jr, Garry Ross, Keenan Ross. Honourary Pallbearers: All her phone buddies and little friends If we missed anyone, we are sorry as it was not intentional. Elizabeth was predeceased by her stepfather, Rev John Buck Sr, biological father, Steven Sanderson of Fairford, Mb, biological Mom:Flora Jane (Ettawakapow)Tobacco, Daughter: Diane Martin, her brother John Carles of Cross Lake, Mb, Late brothers: Bernard Tobacco, Irvin Tobacco, Alfred Tobacco Sr.Step sister: Gertie Ross, niece: Christina(nee Buck)Flett, Adopted Mom: Margaret Jane(nee Knight)Buck. A beautiful Angel is all that is here, saying Oh Lord, please leave me here, not ready to leave but has to go, wants to go back but God says no. A husband and children, grandchildren and friends, a meaningful life that suddenly ends. An angel is what she was meant to be. Now think of all that she can see watching over her family night and day saying " I Love you" in her own special way. In the night we sleep and day we cry while she watches us from her star in the sky!
