Ernest Ewasiuk

Ernest Walter Ewasiuk, aged 55 of The Pas, Manitoba, passed away unexpectedly, Thursday, April 4, 2013 in the home he loved so dearly. Ernie was born Friday, June 28, 1957 in Erickson, Manitoba. He is survived by his mother, Carol along with his five brothers; Al, Murray, Barry, Richard and Shane. Ernie moved to The Pas in 2004 to be with his life partner, Jim Scott. Ernie was an avid outdoorsman and together they explored much of the area around them. Ernie’s favourite place to visit was Iskwasum Landing in the Grass River Provincial Park. Ernie was also an accomplished photographer and received numerous awards and recognition for his works. Before discovering The Pas, Ernie lived in Brandon, Winnipeg, Vancouver and Toronto. Ernie spent almost his entire adult life ill and was a fighter. In keeping with Ernie's wishes, cremation took place and a celebration of his remarkable life was held in the chapel of Hemauer Funeral Home, The Pas, Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. A time of fellowship immediately follow the service and was held on the mezzanine level of the new University College of the North Research Library at 7th and Charlesbois, The Pas. If friends and family so desire a donation would be greatly appreciated to The Pas Regional Library, Box 4100, The Pas, Manitoba, R9A 1R2. “I cried when you passed away. I still cry today. Although I loved you dearly, I couldn’t make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands at rest. God broke my heart to prove to me that he only takes the best” Author unknown
