Ernest was born Tuesday, August 8, 1961 in The Pas, Manitoba to Albert and Ellen Francois. Ernest was a friendly person with everyone. He loved the outdoors and taking trips to Mile 122 and McKnight Lake with his wife Adelaide and sister Rita and family. They would go and set a net, collect herbal medicines to bring to Pukatawagan to give to family and friends. He especially brought traditional medicine to his family and friends who were sick with illness. Ernest suddenly passed away, Sunday, May 22, 2016, at the age of 54 years, on his journey by canoe to pick medicines with his wife and friend Oliver. We will dearly miss him but we know dear Lord that you have opened the gates of heaven for him to be with family that have already made this journey. I know we will miss you but someday we will be with you waiting for us. You have suffered on earth with earthly illness. Now you are going with no more pain. We love you so dearly but we have to learn to let you go. May the Spirit shine upon you and our family you left behind. Ernest is survived by his wife Adelaide; children Amanda Bighetty, Michelle Bighetty, Gabriel Bighetty, Isaac (Valentina) Bighetty and family; grandchildren Shyan, Dylan, Jillian, and “Baby”; sisters Cathy (Stan) Castel and family, Doreen Francois and family, Rita Francois and family, Shirley (Eli) Castel and family, Mary Ann (Rueben Grey and family; brothers Oliver Francois and family, Johnny (Betsy) Francois and family; special brothers and sister Darren (Mellissa) Francois and family, Parry Francois and family, Erica Francois and family; sisters-in-law Victoria Francois and family, Rita (Lazar) Bighetty and family; brothers-in-law John Louie Bighetty and family; aunties Caroline Caribou and family, Cathy Linklater and family; uncles Angus (Pelegie) Linklater and family; George (Marie) Caribou and family.
