Peter was born Tuesday, January 20, 1959 in The Pas, Manitoba to Grace and James Walker. After a lengthy battle with cancer, Peter passed away peacefully Saturday, July 10, 2010 at the Health Science Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba, at the age of 51 years, with his wife of 31 years by his side. Peter and Shirley were united in marriage April 2, 1979 and together they raised 8 children. Peter rededicated his life to Jesus Christ while he was in the hospital a week before his passing. He was a commercial fisherman for 30 years and enjoyed being outdoors hunting with his brothers and visiting his sisters. His passion was his grandchildren. Peter worked hard all his life and he was a good provider for his family. Peter is survived by his wife Shirley; sons Trevor Walker (Sharona), Peter James Walker, Dale (Barbara) Walker, Dallas Walker (Pam), Randy Walker; daughters Trina Walker (Denny), Kelly Walker, Dineen Walker; grandchildren Albertine, Charity, Sharla, Carlee, Layla, Lelan, Shayla, Phoenix, Shaydee, Trevin, Gawyn, Dazano, Kashtyn, Xander, Kessel, Bradin, Brazer, Bruce, Bronson, Dale Jr., Cadence. Peter is also survived by godparents Francis and Nancy Turner who raised him; godchildren Henry Bourassa, Adrienne George (Sal), Fiona Lavallee, Arvel Cook, Kaylene George; brothers Harvey (Gladys) Walker, Jimmy (Susan) Walker, Timothy (Donna) Walker, Reggie (Georgina) Walker, Robert (Maureen) Walker, Billy (Marie) Walker, Renee Walker; sisters Rosemary (Leo) George, Linda (Gary) Easter, Lisa (David) Patchinose; brothers-in-law Ralph (Virginia) Thomas, Edward (Charlotte) Thomas, Donnie Thomas; sisters-in-law Emma Ballantyne, Lorna George; friends that were close to him, Melvin George, Kenneth George, Kenneth Cook, Albert Ross; as well as numerous friends and relatives. Peter was predeceased by his infant son; parents James and Grace Walker; in-laws Henry and Eliza Thomas; grandchildren Gavin Chartrand (June 29, 2002), Dazane Chartrand (June 28, 2006), Danny Packo (May 1, 2009); brother Alec Bailey; grandparents Kathleen Easter, Samuel George, Mary Ann Thomas; aunties Dinah Lachose, Christine George, Anabelle (Ovide) Captain; uncles Gordon George, Roderick George; cousins Denise George, Arnold George, Noreen Mink, Conrad Thomas.
