Frank North Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father, loving brother and awesome friend, Frank North. After a lengthy battle of cancer, our dad was called home Sunday, July 28, 2013 at 6:05 a.m. at St. Anthony’s General Hospital, The Pas, at the age of 53 years. His battle with cancer is now no more. Frank was born Tuesday, August 18, 1959 in Flin Flon, Manitoba to Margaret and Philip North. Throughout his life he lived in The Pas, Sherridon and Cormorant. Throughout his life Frank worked on CN Rail; the sawmill in The Pas; Hydro lines; Wuskwatim Hydro dam; Emergency Fire Fighter; bouncer at the Avenue Hotel; and commercial fisherman with his brother Stan. He enjoyed baseball, playing pool and poker, and watching his favorite hockey team “Toronto Maple Leafs. He loved to tease everyone and he gave everyone a nickname. Frank is survived by his special companion, Sylvia; his children Billie Jo (Chris), Rikki, Chad, Cheyenne and Kara; grandchildren, Curtis, Cameron, Cole, Castin, Christian, Stevie, Shayne, Max, Reid, Ryan, Chase, Quintin, Kiana, Amber, Dylan; step children, Roland, Mark, Clayton, Charlene, Ronald, Aaron, Harry, Patsy, and Charlene Cook. Frank will be lovingly remembered by his brothers, Stan Cook (Laura), Floyd John (Elaine), Gordie (Shannon), Ray; his sisters Barb, Sue, Linda, Julie. He will be greatly missed by his little partner Colby Spence, whose first word was “Fankie”; many relatives too numerous to mention; and all his friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Margaret and Philip North; and many relatives too numerous to mention. Special thanks to the doctors and nurses at The Pas Health Complex, Cancer Center of Manitoba, our family and friends. If we forgot anyone, it was not intentional.
