Frederick White THE PAS, Manitoba Obituary

Frederick White

Frederick Russell White, also known as “Blackie”, passed away peacefully at his home, Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at the age of 85 years. Fred was born in The Pas, Saturday, December 17, 1927 to Percy Arthur and Clarisse White. On June 4, 1949 Fred married the love of his life, Delores Dion and together they had seven children. Fred spent the majority of his life living and working in the north where he was employed in various places such as Central Northern Airways in Lynn Lake and Trans Air in The Pas. He eventually became self-employed with his brother Doug as Agents for Imperial Oil in The Pas. Dad grew up with a love for hunting, fishing and camping. Dad and mom built their dream cabin at Pothier Lake where they spent many weekends enjoying family time in the great outdoors. In his rusty years, he enjoyed travelling with his wife Delores. Fred always had a unique way of doing things. That’s where the saying, “there’s a right way, a wrong way and Fred’s way” must have came from. Dad suffered a great loss when mom died and we take comfort in the fact that they are reunited. Fred is survived by his children, Susan (Earl), Carol (Allan), Ken (Jennifer), Judy (Allan), Percy (Joy), Reynold (Joan); sister Lillian; and brother Doug. Fred is predeceased by his wife Delores; daughter Karen Mayer; parents Percy and Clarisse; In-laws Frank and Zedia Dion; and sister Irene Senchuk. In keeping with Fred’s wishes cremation took place and a Service of Remembrance to celebrate his life was held Saturday, December 7, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Cathedral, The Pas, Manitoba with Rev. Jack Herklotz presiding. Music Ministry: Jana Dutkiewicz. Memories of the Heart: Allan Alyea. Scripture Readings: Susan Dodd and Colleen Luce. Honorary Pallbearers were Fred’s grandchildren: Sandra Kasowski, Dianne Dodd, Colleen Luce, Crystal Anderson, Bruce Anderson, Richard White, Darrell White, David White, Collin White, Ernie Regent, Chris Alyea, Carrie Durling, Kaytlyn White, Taylor O’Rourke, Chase Mayer, Cole Mayer, Brindy Mayer, Chris DeLaronde and Skylar DeLaronde. If friends so desire donations to a charity of choice would be appreciated by Fred’s family. Hemauer Funeral Home and Cremation Services, The Pas, were in care of arrangements.
