Blake was born Friday, August 31, 1945 at Yorkton, Saskatchewan, the son of Garfield and Rose Taylor. The family lived in Yorkton, Flin Flon, Kelvington, Canora and The Pas. Blake received his formal education in all of towns but Yorkton. Blake was united in marriage to Joan Kobelsky, August 29, 1981. Their union was blessed with one daughter, Brandy Rose. Blake will be remembered as an outdoorsman and fisherman who loved company and friends. Blake passed away Monday, September 3, 2012, at Saint Anthony’s Hospital, The Pas, Manitoba, at the age of 67 years just three days after his birthday. Blake leaves to mourn his passing and to cherish his memory, his wife Joan; daughter Brandy Rose (Bruce); stepsons Bernard (Gwen), Clint (Sandy); stepdaughter Melissa (Kelly); grandchildren Gavin, Alex, Lelin, Alissa, Cory, Samantha, Sabrina, Byron, Kayden, Wyatt; as well as his only brother Doug (Lucille) and family. In keeping with Blake’s wishes, cremation took place and a service of remembrance to celebrate his life was held Saturday, September 25, 2012, 1:30 pm at the Royal Canadian Legion Hall, The Pas, Manitoba. In lieu of flowers, donations to The Pas Health Complex Foundation, Inc., Memorial Fund, Palliative Care Division, Box 541, The Pas, Manitoba, R9A 1K4, would be appreciated by Blake’s family.
