Born to Edward and Lillian Libbrecht (nee Hockridge) in Flin Flon, Manitoba, Monday, April 14, 1952. At a very early age Gerald’s family moved to The Pas, Manitoba where he spent the majority of his life. Gerald spent his working career at the pulp mill. He really enjoyed his time spent between The Pas and Wanless – fishing on Rocky Lake and quading and driving the back roads with family and friends. Gerald is survived by wife Debra; son Derrick (Vonnie); grandchildren Rory and Damian; brothers and sisters Ronald (Judy), Lesley (Jack), Vernon (Dawn), Dawn (Thys) and their families. Gerald was predeceased by his dad; mom; step-dad; son Robert; mother-in-law; father-in-law; and brother and sister-in-law. With respect to Gerald’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. Cremation has taken place and a private family interment will be held at Lakeside Cemetery at a later date. Gerald’s family wish to thank the caregivers at the CancerCare Unit (Health Sciences Centre) and the CancerCare Staff in The Pas for their kindness and compassion.
