It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our Mom, Hazel Sanderson, peacefully Tuesday, April 20, 2010 at St. Anthony’s Hospital, The Pas, at the age of 72 years. Mom was born in Moose Lake, Manitoba, Wednesday, November 17, 1937 to Joseph and Hilda Sinclair. Mom was united in marriage to our Dad, Arthur John Sanderson, December 28, 1954 at Moose Lake. Mom and Dad had ten children, with Bernadette being our eldest sister, who passed away at a tender age of three months; and Roy, our oldest brother, followed by Pauline (Tim), Harry (Theresa), Viola, Cecil (Linda), Denise (Kelly), Allan, Janet (Sherwin); one angel. Our Mom, in her lifetime was a daughter; grandma; chapan, Godmother; aunt; sister; daughter-in-law; sister-in-law; and friend. Many knew her as Puppy. Over the years, Mom worked for Canada Post in Moose Lake, as well as the Lucien Store in Moose Lake. Mom and Dad re-located to Leaf Rapids where Dad worked for the mine and Mom worked for the Whitewater Inn. Mom loved playing bingo, visiting friends, spending time with her family and many grandchildren and making slippers and star blankets for special occasions and picking berries. Mom loved telling stories to all her friends, children and grandchildren. She would tell us stories of her childhood and her dreams but most importantly Mom was a great listener and confidante. There is so much about this wonderful woman that we want to say. With heavy hearts we say goodbye to our Mom. Mom we truly love you with all our hearts, you leave us with knowledge, kindness, patience, a lot of love and a true meaning of “Thy will be done”. The memories will be with us forever as you are the inspiration in our lives. You are unique and special and full of humour. As you join Dad and become one again, we will be here knowing you and Dad will be with us all though the days of our lives.
