John was an active outdoor person. He enjoyed spending days out in the wilderness. He loved to go camping, hunting, fishing and trapping with his family, friends, and especially with his long time friend, John Peter (Sloop) Cook. John started work early in his life at the age of 16. First, with Brush cutting, the Canadian National Railway, the Department of Highways, the River Sawmills, which is now called Tolko, where he retired in 2006. In his younger days, he played hockey as a goalie, soccer for the Big Eddy Warriors, coached a soccer team called the CRR Loggers. He loved soccer the most. Later in life, he travelled with his wife Sally to Las Vegas, NV. Vancouver, BC. and Banff, AB. He wanted to see the mountains, the ocean and the prairies. John made sure the family celebrated all special occasions with a feast, there was always plenty to eat for all his family and friends. He was a mentor to his brothers, sisters and many others. A well respected man by all who knew him. To his close hunting companions, he was best known as “Kumonie”. John is survived by his wife of 44 years Sally, his children: Joseph, Marie (Dennis) Campbell, Kenneth (Dino), Annie. grandchildren: John (JP), Marissa, Kelly, Journey, Renesa, Gavin, Bailey, Brent, David and Balen. his siblings: Rev. David Wilson, Gary (Wilma) Cook, Arthur Wilson, Rosalie Wilson, Juan Singh, Maggie Wilson, nieces, nephews and numerous other relatives. John was predeceased by his parents: Joseph, Christie Anna Wilson, siblings: James Wilson, Percy Wilson, Sarah Jane Wilson, infant girl and sister-in-laws: Lorraine Wilson, Samaria Wilson. son: Derek Wilson, granddaughter: Vivian Wilson. Mother and Father-in-law: Lazarus, Annie Harris, and numerous other relatives.
