Hilda Sinclair Obituary

Hilda was born Saturday, September 29, 1917 in Moose Lake to Alex and Flora Knight. Mom lived in Moose Lake all her life. She met Dad and they were united in marriage June 5, 1935 and together they raised eleven daughters and three of their grandchildren as their own. Mom belonged to the ACW church group. She loved playing Bingo and VLT’s, beadwork, knitting, picking berries and cooking. In their younger days they use to take us out on fishing and camping trips and all of us would pick berries with her. She missed Dad so much it’s what she always talked about, “to be with him” and we all know now she is with Dad and her family. Before moving to the Rod McGillivary Memorial Care Home she used to sell ice cream and “muskamees”. All the kids in her neighborhood called her “muskamees Kookoom”. Mom raised us to share, respect and love. She taught us to help others, especially when in need. She was like that, whatever she had she’d give, she never wanted much. She was very proud to enjoy the sixth generation celebration June 24, 2009. Hilda passed away peacefully, Saturday, April 3, 2010 at St. Anthony’s Hospital, The Pas, Manitoba, age 92 years. Hilda is survived by her daughters and one son, Hazel Sanderson, Emma Patchenose, Suzette (James) Young, Ruby (Ahab) McNabb, Stella (Dan) Young, Bev (Clarence) Easter, Lucy (Ernest) Bercier, Sherri (Ernest) Grey, Albertine Sinclair and our brother Alpheus Sinclair; sons-in-law William Easter, Gilbert Campbell Sr., Laddie Ballantyne; nieces and nephews on both sides; relatives on both our Mom’s and Dad’s side; cousins on the Knight side; and all Hilda’s godchildren and six generations of grandchildren.
