Ian Henderson

Ian Craig Thomas Henderson of The Pas, Manitoba passed away peacefully Friday, March 11, 2016, at home with his family by his side, at the age of 50 years. Ian was born Wednesday, October 6, 1965, in Scarborough, Ontario to Ernest and Lois Henderson (nee McGlaughlin). Ian attended school in Rosetown, Saskatchewan and graduated from Rosetown Composite High in 1983. Ian worked at Revelstoke in Rosetown and was transferred to The Pas, Manitoba to be Assistant Manager. It was in The Pas that he met the love of his life Sally Case. They were united in marriage April 1, 1989. He managed Home Hardware in The Pas until 1998, then went on to work at Tolko until April 1999, when they purchased Kelsey Glass. Ian had a passion for the outdoors whether it be fishing, snowmobiling, hunting or just spending family time at their cabin in Cormorant. In the last few years he developed a passion for restoring his uncle Ron and aunt Doris Rawson’s 1932 Ford Model B, 5 window coupe. Ian was actively involved with groups in the community, such as Kelsey Trail Sno-Riders and The Northern Classics Car Club. Ian survived his diagnose of cancer in 2012 and with his strong belief and family support, courageously battled his illness for the next four years. Ian lived to live and was an inspiration to others who experienced the same. Ian is survived by and lovingly remembered by his wife Sally (nee Case); son Corey (Christina); daughter Kristine; grandson William (mother Jodie Kuhl); mother Lois Henderson; sister Patricia (Kent) Junop and their family Michael, Brandon and Kylee; brother Neil (Lori) Henderson and their family Jordan (Jeanine), Evan, Danielle and Jaden; brothers-in-law Bill Case, Frank (Paula) Case, Gary (Germain) Case, Ray (Shannon) Case; sister-in-law Theresa Case (Morris); as well as several nieces and nephews. Ian was predeceased by his father Ernest Henderson and sister-in-law Kathleen Case. Thank you to Ian’s family and close friends who were there for all his needs. Ian couldn’t have been looked after any better. A special thank you to Keely and Shane Steele for their on going support and for Cassidy and Georgia Steele for looking after Ian’s favorite four legged fishing partner “Mickey”. It was greatly appreciated.
