On Saturday, June 18, 2016, Jacques Allaire passed away peacefully with family by his side, at his home in Cranberry Portage, Manitoba, at the age of 66 years.
Jacques came to Manitoba from St. Francois in Montmagny, Quebec, in1969 to work for Churchill Forest Industries. Here he met and married Paulette, wife of 43 years. Together they settled in Cranberry Portage to raise their family.
In this community that he was proud to call home, Jacques was a member of the local Lions Club and volunteered on the fire department. After a long career in forestry, medical issues forced Jacques to stop work in 2005.
Despite many health challenges, Jacques still found ways to do all the things that made him smile. Hunting, fishing, camping and manicuring his lawn, were just some of those things. Nothing gave him greater pleasure than lending a hand to friends, family and neighbors. Nothing made him smile more than spending time with his grandchildren.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife Paulette; son Derrick (Sonya Cook); daughter Michelle (Barry Mintenko); grandchildren Noah and Aiden; sisters Nicole (Rosaire Simard), Odette (Bruno Blais), Diane (Stephan Jean), Chantal (Marcel Bernier); brothers Robert (Chantal Theriault) and Yvon; and many nieces and nephews.
Jacques was predeceased by his parents Jean and Lorraine Allaire; brothers Roger and Gaetan Allaire.
Our family would like to express their sincere thanks and appreciation for all the acts of kindness, thoughts and prayers at this time.
A special thank you to the Cranberry Portage Volunteer Fire Department
for remembering and honouring Jacques.
