James Buck THE PAS, Manitoba Obituary

James Buck

It is with great sadness in the passing of our Loved one who left us unexpectedly. James passed away peacefully Tuesday, July 31, 2012, at his residence in Moose Lake, Traders Lake, Manitoba. James was born Wednesday, March 27, 1957 in The Pas, Manitoba. James had great passion for life. He grasped at whatever came his way. His eagerness in succeeding has molded him to what he became. A great achiever. During his young life, he was very adventurous always hunting, trapping and fishing. He also was very active involving himself with sports. He use to play a lot of soccer being in teams that were Monarchs, Selects and the twenty four's. He started working for Moose Lake Loggers at an early age and was employed with them for 29 years. He had his own business and adapted to going mechanical. He met his wife Elaine and they were together for 21 years and united as one on October 10, 2009. Their love was so rich that they shared raising and keeping 5 beautiful kids. (Patsy, Henry, Agnes, Felix, Aries.) Family was the most important part of his life he loved spending time with them. He enjoyed joking around with his friends and family and people he just met. He loved to make people laugh and it was hard to tell if he was joking around or being serious. When visiting Jim at his home he always offered traditional food and shared his never ending stories. James decided to get into politics and got elected in as Councillor in 2008. He ran again his second term in 2010 and completed. He just had election on July 2012 and again came in with the most highest votes. James was a phone call away when needed. He always made time in trying to help out the people. He had so many tasks and accomplishments at the office. He ensured the well being of the office function and the bonding of the members. James had a very open personality. He was pure and very down to earth. His uniqueness and humour drew himself many friends and made it easy to talk to people. He really enjoyed exercising with his wife taking kilometre walks. He also loved the challenges of crib, teasing if he skunked someone. One of his other many prides was his yard. He enjoyed making things outside and around the house. Making little projects for his kids. James liked and enjoyed when his sisters would come out for a visit. He especially loved family gatherings making big celebrations when it came to birthdays. His other activity was making the kids happy by playing soccer with them. On many occasions he wanted to take trip always planning for them, but for some unknown reasons, things came up and did not happen. But when he did, he always came back telling his stories of the adventurous mishaps. He put a lot of enthusiasm when it came to his story telling, defining one of his uniqueness about him. In the evenings he would drive out to Moose Lake to go buy bingo cards. This was one he hid from many people. He loved playing bingo and teased all the guys that were playing, he would holler out, “Did you put on your dress yet?” then he would drive away laughing, especially to Joseph Lambert and Joey Sinclair. He had many honeys, they are Marlene McKay, Rita Bignell, Shelley Nasekapow, and his sister-in-law Charlene Omeara. James also took on the role of looking after his in-laws. He never held back telling them things and was also very supportive and caring for them.
