James Frechette THE PAS, Manitoba Obituary

James Frechette

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of James Frechette peacefully in his sleep, at his residence in The Pas on Monday, January 2, 2017, at the age of 64 years. James was born in The Pas, MB on Tuesday, September 16, 1952 to Marcel and Doreen Frechette. James had 9 siblings. Six sisters and three brothers. Marilyn (Garry) Halliday, Gerry (Sheila) Frechette, Diane Frechette (Ken Butler), Valerie (Jim) Lindsay, Danny (Janet) Frechette, Suzanne Frechette, Angela Frechette, Judy (Kelly) Peterson, Marcel (Charlene ) Frechette, and many nieces and nephews, and a large extended family. Jamie started his work career at Frechette’s Dairy, which was a long time family business. He worked for his Dad, and along-side his uncle John. Later on he went to pump gas at Carnegie’s Service. He worked a few different jobs then decided it was time to “hang his hat and have a Kokanee! Jamie came from a family that loves to laugh and play jokes on each other. James was no exception to the rule. He enjoyed the banter. James hobby was to build models for many years and then he moved on to making beautiful jigsaw puzzles with his favourite being Norman Rockwell. His siblings liked to tease him about which puzzle they were keeping for their own. One of Jamie’s biggest loves was music. In keeping with family wishes, cremation has taken place and a service of remembrance to celebrate Jamie’s life will be held Saturday, January 14, 2017, 3:00 pm, at the Royal Canadian Legion Hall, The Pas, Manitoba, with James Hemauer presiding. Music ministry provided by Rochelle Rydberg. A private family interment will be held at Lakeside Cemetery, The Pas, Manitoba. Following the service a reception for family and friends will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of choice would be appreciated by Jamie’s family. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thank you to the many people who were a part of Jamie’s life. Also a huge thank you to the EMS staff and emergency room staff. We would especially like to thank the home care staff at Pineview Manor. Jamie loved his “pad”. Your care and compassion is appreciated beyond words.
