She was born to Mary and Harry Moran Wednesday, November 28, 1962 in The Pas, MB and resided in Moose Lake for her infancy before moving to The Pas where she spent her youth. Janet had several fun-filled years with her siblings growing up and eventually graduated from Margaret Barbour Collegiate Institute in 1982. She went on to complete her Bachelor of Arts degree from Saskatchewan Indian Federated College and formed numerous, lifelong friendships during her time in Regina, SK. Beginning her career as a social worker allowed Janet to do what she loved best and that was helping others in various ways throughout her lifetime. As a social worker, Janet enjoyed learning new things and one of her proudest accomplishments was obtaining her pilot's license as she liked to fly into the open skies of the North that she absolutely loved. Janet was an avid dancer who loved to express herself in new and exciting ways, such as trying the bachata, salsa dancing, and we can't forget her good ole fashioned jigging. Dancing was one of her greatest passions and it filled her heart with joy while allowing her to embrace the changes life brings. Another one of her hobbies she enjoyed was gardening as helping plants, and people, blossom made her happy and fulfilled her love of nature. Janet loved all animals, which was evident in her gentleness and kindness toward them. Travelling abroad had always been her dream as she was fascinated by different cultures and she accomplished her dream in her last years which brought her great happiness. Everyone who knew her was aware of her charismatic personality as Janet had countless friends wherever she went and was a fun, spontaneous person to be around who also enjoyed the simple beauty of everyday life. Her family was her greatest joy in life and she surrounded herself with love as everyone who met her had to like her unique charm. Janet was a proud grandmother who rejoiced when her granddaughter Lashaya was born. She spent her time spoiling her grandbaby, who she lovingly nicknamed 'Lulu'. Everyone will miss her amazing soul and kind heart as she touched the lives of numerous people she met over her lifetime. Janet is survived by her ex-husband, David Marion; two daughters, Natashia Marion (Bobby) and Tia-Ashley McCallum (Luke); only grandchild Lashaya Marion; sisters Gladys (Keith) and Annie (Ronnie); brothers Lloyd (Shirley), Harry, Clifford, and Brian. Janet was predeceased by her parents, Mary and Harry Moran; Mike Zahayko, Bill and Edna Cook; brother Stanley; and beloved nephew Joshua. Janet considered every one of her friends her family and will be greatly missed by all those she blessed with her beautiful presence. Wake services were held Tuesday, April 26 and Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at the Margaret Henderson Parish Hall, Church of the Redeemer, Opaskwayak Cree Nation. The funeral service was held Thursday, April 28, 2016, 11:00 am, at the Church of the Redeemer, Opaskwayak Cree Nation, with Pastor Ziggy Froese presiding. In keeping with Janet’s wishes cremation took place and a private family interment will be held at a later date. Pallbearers were Brian, Clifford, Bobby, Keith Jr, Brennan, Jeremiah, Doug. Janet would like all her family and friends to consider themselves Honorary Pallbearers as she had many loved ones.
