Jean Campbell passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Monday, December 27, 2010 at St. Anthony’s Hospital, The Pas, Manitoba, at the age of 82 years. Born Saturday, June 9, 1928 in Coxby, SK, Jean spent her childhood in Prince Albert, SK and lived in a couple of different locations before making The Pas a permanent home and raising her family. Jean was a hard worker and held all kinds of jobs in The Pas during her 50 plus years in the area. She was a lifetime member of The Pas Legion Ladies Auxiliary Branch No. 19. Before retiring Jean had worked several years at The Pas Post Office and Employment Center. Jean was a proud, graceful, witty and nurturing woman with a no-nonsense style about her. She was family oriented and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Jean resided at St. Paul’s Personal Care Home for the past two and a half years. She truly enjoyed the socialization and activities and always looked forward to visits with her family, friends and the staff. Jean will be missed by those who knew and loved her. At the time of her passing in December, Jean was survived by her son, Donald (Roberta) Campbell, daughters Debra Hall and Wendy (Wade) Hrappstead, her grandchildren and great grandchildren; her brother Kenneth (Joan) McLennan and many family members and dear friends. Sadly, her daughter Debra has since passed away in March, 2011. Jean was preceded in death by her husband Chuck; son Lance (Ruth); parents Eva and William McLennan; brothers and sisters, Gladys, Jim, Jack, Jerry, Gertie (Jim) Weddell and Dolores (Bill) Apps and numerous relatives. Prayer services were held on Thursday, December 30, 2010, 7:00 pm at the Chapel of Hemauer Funeral Home, The Pas, MB with Rev. Rebecca Graham presiding. Music ministry was provided by Rochelle Rydberg. At Jean’s request, cremation did take place. A memorial service will be held at Christ Church Anglican in The Pas, MB on Saturday, July 9, 2011 at 11:00am.
