Jean Marie Morin THE PAS, Manitoba Obituary

Jean Marie Morin

Auntie Jean Marie Louise Morin was born Wednesday, August 21, 1935 in Sturgeon Landing, Saskatchewan. She was born to Pierre and Florence (nee Buck) Morin and she was blessed with four brothers and four sisters. Jean received her education in Sturgeon Landing and later returned to school and received a certificate in Commercial Cooking through KCC in The Pas, MB. Together with late Mike McKay, Jean had her only child, a son who they named Michael. Jean was blessed with four grandchildren: Cassandra, Marley, Starlight, and Thunder whom she cherished very much. Jean resided in Flin Flon, MB for many years and was employed by the RCMP. She later moved to The Pas to be closer to her family until her passing. Auntie Jean led a very quiet and humble life. She was gifted and talented in her creative ability to knit, sew, and quilt. Many friends and family members have treasured hand-made gifts from her, which we will cherish forever. Another one of her greatest past times was gardening and canning her vegetables and she made the sweetest home-made jams. Auntie Jean carried an infectious smile and she took great pride in everything she did. Her appearance was also important to her. She would trust no one to do her hair except her sister Margaret, in the privacy of her own home. She loved entertaining guests in her immaculate home. Auntie Jean would welcome you with open arms, an inviting smile, and fresh baking, hot tea, while laughing and sharing stories of her childhood memories. On every phone call I made to her, she never forgot to ask about her many nieces and nephews, especially her grandchildren. Auntie Jean was strong and steadfast in her beliefs and in her encouraging words. We all loved Auntie Jean, and she leaves many fond and memorable memories. Her spirit will continue to grow in the lives of each of us and she was a blessing to many people in many different ways. We will rest in confidence knowing that you are safe in the arms of Jesus. Auntie Jean passed away, suddenly and unexpectedly Friday, September 10, 2010 at her residence in The Pas, Manitoba, age 75 years. Jean is survived by her son Michael; grandchildren Cassandra, Marley Starlight, and Thunder; sisters Margaret Michelle and Angie Dumas; brothers Angus Morin and Bernard Jobb; best friend Sarah; and numerous nieces, nephews, and grandchildren. Jean is predeceased by her parents Pierre and Florence Morin; infant grandson Michael Little Wolf Morin; sisters Georgina and Pauline; brothers Horace and Louis; brother-in-law Joe Michelle; sisters-in-law Rachel, Harriet, and Freda; nephews George, Leonard, Brian, Larry, and Henry; nieces Muriel, Marie; grand-daughter Pearl Faith.
